Rockwell Automation Inc. (NYSE: ROK), the world’s largest company dedicated to industrial automation and information, makes its customers more productive and the world more sustainable. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., Rockwell Automation employs about 22,000 people serving customers in more than 80 countries.
Rockwell Automation and AT&T are collaborating to deliver solutions that help enable Rockwell Automation customers to securely collect, manage and take action on data from industrial equipment located in plants and remote sites around the globe.
At the 2015 AT&T Developer Conference Keynote Rockwell Automation demonstrated how M2X enables the capture of diagnostic data in a reliable and secure manner, via a simulation of a drive and motor used by water utility pumping stations. Power, voltage, RPM and current data that is monitored by the pump is pushed to the M2X service, and access to the data is controlled via the M2X developer portal. RPM data is of particular interest to the water utility customer, and this data exclusively can be shared with the water utility via M2X.
